Well this weekend was a corker! Stunning is the first word that comes to mind with this wedding. Sophie and Tom planned such a wonderful day – with the ceremony in a candlelit church on Brownsea Island (just off the coast of Poole) and then the drinks reception on a boat, which took everyone over to Shell Bay on Studland Beach for their evening reception. Now these guys are literally the most active and athletic people I have ever met (!!) so I love that they made their wedding perfect for them, with lots going on, and being by the sea. Sophie looked effortlessly beautiful all day – despite the sea breeze and boat trips! The highlight for me was the boat journey over to the church for the ceremony where Sophie had Spice Girls playing on the boat full blast, with all the Bridesmaids dancing! So much thought went into this wedding, I was blown over by Sophie’s organisation skills. Congratulations again you lovely people. Thank you to Nicola Streader for second shooting and capturing the boys in the morning :) xxSophie+Tom_2_0540Sophie+Tom_1_0801Sophie+Tom_1_0075Sophie+Tom_1_0082Sophie+Tom_1_0143Sophie+Tom_1_0229Sophie+Tom_1_0374Sophie+Tom_1_0465Sophie+Tom_1_0633Sophie+Tom_1_0726Sophie+Tom_1_0981Sophie+Tom_N_1_0013Sophie+Tom_N_1_0024Sophie+Tom_N_1_0042Sophie+Tom_N_1_0052Sophie+Tom_1_1083Sophie+Tom_1_1085Sophie+Tom_1_1119Sophie+Tom_1_1149Sophie+Tom_1_1162Sophie+Tom_1_1207Sophie+Tom_1_1300Sophie+Tom_1_1336Sophie+Tom_1_1388Sophie+Tom_1_1435Sophie+Tom_N_1_0408Sophie+Tom_1_1502Sophie+Tom_1_1530Sophie+Tom_4_0204Sophie+Tom_1_1721Sophie+Tom_1_1726Sophie+Tom_1_2065Sophie+Tom_1_2111Sophie+Tom_1_2099Sophie+Tom_1_2144Sophie+Tom_4_0427Sophie+Tom_2_0090Sophie+Tom_2_0403Sophie+Tom_2_0429Sophie+Tom_2_0644Sophie+Tom_2_0702Sophie+Tom_2_1289Sophie+Tom_2_1320Sophie+Tom_2_1332Sophie+Tom_2_1580Sophie+Tom_2_1605Sophie+Tom_2_1626

I recently had the pleasure of working along side a total goddess and very talented photographer who I have been a fan of for years. Katie Julia is a Fine Art Photographer based in Peterborough and when she posted that she needed someone to help her on a wedding I was very quick to offer my services! This wedding was one of Katie’s best friend’s so she needed an extra pair of hands to help with changing her film’s and shooting on the day. It was a flippin’ wonderful experience shooting for her, getting to know her and learning about how she works. I think each and every one of us tog’s works differently, we all have our own ways and own styles and it’s such a nice thing to work with other people in the industry. Here are a few of my snaps from the gorgeous day, styling by the incredible Lily & Sage. Massive congratulations to Gemma + Mark xKatie_Julia_Wedding-1Katie_Julia_Wedding-4Katie_Julia_Wedding-8Katie_Julia_Wedding-9Katie_Julia_Wedding-14Katie_Julia_Wedding-23Katie_Julia_Wedding-27Katie_Julia_Wedding-24Katie_Julia_Wedding-25Katie_Julia_Wedding-26Katie_Julia_Wedding-40Katie_Julia_Wedding-41Katie_Julia_Wedding-42Katie_Julia_Wedding-46Katie_Julia_Wedding-48Katie_Julia_Wedding-58Katie_Julia_Wedding-64Katie_Julia_Wedding-69Katie_Julia_Wedding-74

The loveliest thing for me is when an old friend asks me to be a part of their day by being the one behind the camera. I met Bride Becky a few years ago in a past job. She knew at the time I was a wedding photographer, and it was so lovely that she remembered me and has followed my photography ever since. I love shooting in new places and Elcot Park near Newbury was a new one for me. I was really impressed with its beautiful gardens and the modern manor house vibe inside. Not to mention, the gardens were filled with beautiful blossom trees in bloom, so I was a happy kid!

A heartfelt, emotional wedding with lots of wonderful touches including succulent themed name cards + table plan made by Becky herself! Her and Ross’s day was personal and great fun for all those involved.  Ross’s brother (Best Man) gave a corker of a speech, whilst squirting people with water from his clown bow tie and not to mention striping down to a very risqué ‘Where’s Wally’ outfit that they made Ross wear on his stag do!!

Massive congratulations to this fabulous pair :)

Happy Easter Monday everyone! The rain has taken over today so I have retreated back into our lounge, in front of the fire. Netflix is on (of course!) and I thought I would share with you some photos from this pre-wedding shoot I did last weekend. Emma + James booked me last year for their upcoming wedding this month (April!) and Emma was really keen to have a shoot before the wedding so that they could have some practise being in front of the camera. I would totally recommend these shoots to all my couples! They are great fun, super relaxed and give us a chance to get to know each other better before the big day. They also help build trust between you and I, as you get a feel for how I work and what it’s like to be photographed by me. The relationship it allows us to build allows you to truly relax during your wedding and will allow for more connection when we spend time taking those romantic, personal portrait photos of just the two of you.

Emma + James have spent lots of time walking along the beach at Lee on the Solent and so it seemed fitting to them to have it as the setting for their pre-wedding shoot. I loved that the location meant something to them, and enjoyed hearing stories about their times visiting with James’ family. I think Emma was a little nervous about the shoot but they were both absolute naturals and so utterly lovely (and in love!) and so it felt completely natural photographing them. The weather almost rained the shoot off! But we are so glad we went ahead, because despite the drizzle we were gifted with some beautiful low fog over the sea! It was so nice to spend some time with them before the wedding, and now I feel even more exited for their celebrations at the end of this month.

This morning I was lucky enough to get to have a little nosy around the stunning newly renovated Coldeast Mansion. Coldeast has recently been beautifully restored and transformed into an elegant new Wedding Venue in Hampshire (near Salisbury Green). As soon as I got chatting to the events team there I knew I wanted to pop in and poke my nose around! The girls there are lovely (Wise Catering are in charge of hospitality!) and it was great to learn about the wonderful new space. I can’t wait to see this venue in wedding season, bursting with lots of wonderful Bride and Grooms! If you are looking for a wedding venue in Hampshire definitely check Coldeast Mansion out. Not only are all of its rooms licensed for civil ceremonies, but it also has a licensed bergoda down in the garden for outside weddings too. There are 27 apartments for your guests to rent and stay in, all with little kitchens and bathrooms! And for the Bride and Groom there is a stunning Bridal Suite on the lower floor, where the ladies can also get ready in the morning! The rooms are all bright and full of light with the most gorgeous huge windows framing every room. Lots of the original features of the building remain, as well as some of the pretty floors and cute doorways. Take a look –
